Purehmv Harry Potter Experience CONTEST RULES


To be entered automatically, members must have pre-ordered Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 on Blu-Ray™ Combo Pack at any hmv Canada retail location prior to the release date on November 11.


No purchase necessary option: complete a maximum 250-word essay on why you love Harry Potter. Please send essay Attn: purehmv Harry Potter Experience Contest, 5401 Eglinton Avenue West, Suite 110, Etobicoke, ON M9C 5K6. The no purchase option is available for the entire duration of the contest. All entries must be received within one week of the contest closing date and become the property of HMV Canada Inc. and will not be returned. The winner of this contest will not be chosen based on the content of the essay. Each essay is counted as one entry and the content of the essay will not increase the chances of winning.


The “purehmv Harry Potter Experience Contest” (the “Contest”) is sponsored by hmv Canada Inc., (referred to as the “Sponsor”). The Contest begins at 12:00:01 AM (EST) on November 1, 2011 and ends at 11:59:00 PM (EST) on November 30, 2011 (the “Contest Period”). All entries must be received no later than 11:59:00 PM (EST) on November 30, 2011 after which time the Contest will be closed and no further entries shall be accepted.


HOW TO ENTER: To enter automatically, pre-order Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 on Blu-Ray™ Combo Pack at any hmv Canada retail location prior to the release date on November 11. Your purehmv member I.D. will be automatically added to the contest database and you will receive an email confirming your entry has been received.


To enter using Pure points beginning November 11, click the ‘enter the contest’ tab and add the contest entry reward to your Pure basket. (You must have sufficient points available in your account in order to redeem the contest entry reward). Select Checkout and agree to the terms and conditions. Finally, confirm that your reward request is accurate and click the Place Your Order button to complete your transaction. Your purehmv member I.D. will be automatically added to the contest database and you will receive an email confirming your entry has been received.


All entries must be received on or before 11:59:00 PM (EST) on November 30, 2011 (the “Contest Closing Date”) in order to qualify. Registered Pure members (Tier 1 membership) will be entered automatically one time for each eligible pre-order between November 1, 2011 and November 10, 2011. Each completed Pure Points contest entry will deduct 1000 Pure points from the member’s personal Pure account balance. Contest Entries are only limited by the number of points available in the member’s personal account or the number of unique No Purchase Options submitted.


GRAND PRIZE: There is one (1) grand prize available consisting of:


• One (1) trip for four to the Warner Bros. Studio Tour in London, England where the Harry Potter™ films were made! (Travel dates, accommodations and any other travel arrangements to be determined at the sole discretion of the Sponsor.)


The approximate retail value of this prize is: $10,000.00


Grand Prize is not transferrable and can be redeemed by Contest winner only. If the selected winner is a minor, a parent or legal guardian must sign an affidavit in addition to any releases to be signed by the winner.


The Sponsor will not replace any lost or stolen items. Only the listed Prize will be awarded and no substitutions, cash equivalents or redemptions will be made, except in accordance with the rights of the Sponsor reserved in these Contest Rules.


The Prizes must be accepted as awarded without substitution and are not transferable, not for resale and have no cash surrender or redemption value.


The Sponsor reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to substitute another prize of equal or greater value for all or any component of the Prizes, without liability, in the event that the Prizes or any component of the Prizes cannot be awarded as described for any reason.


ELIGIBILITY: Entry using the No Purchase method is not limited to Pure members. The Contest is open to all Canadian residents and excludes all employees of the Sponsor, their affiliated companies or agents, their respective advertising or promotional agencies and the independent Contest organization, and any member of any such employee’s immediate family (regardless of place of residence) or household. In these Contest Rules, “immediate family” includes mother, father, brother, sister, son, daughter, partner or legal or common-law spouse.


PRIZE ADMINISTRATION: The Random Draw Date for the Grand Prize from all eligible entries received will be held at the offices of hmv Canada on or about November 30, 2011 (the “Random Draw Date”). The odds of winning will be dependent on the number of eligible entries received during the Contest Period. Within forty-eight (48) hours of the random draw, the selected entrant will be notified by telephone at the number recorded on his/her submitted entry (the “Winner Notification”). Selected entrant name may also be published on www.purehmv.ca. In order to be eligible to win, the selected entrant must comply with all Contest Rules. In the event that the selected entrant cannot be reached within five (5) days of the Random Draw Date or otherwise does not meet all Contest conditions, his/her Prize will be forfeited and hmv Canada will award the Prize (subject to these Contest Rules) to another selected entrant drawn at random from the remaining eligible entries.


GENERAL: By entering the Contest, entrants agree to abide by these Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor and/or independent Contest organization with respect to all aspects of the Contest, which are final.


PUBLICITY RELEASE: By participating in the Contest, the Grand Prize winner consents to the use of his/her name, address (city and province), voice, image and/or photograph, without further remuneration, in connection with any publicity carried out by or on behalf of the Sponsor with respect to this Contest, and waives all rights (including moral rights) with respect to printed, broadcast and other forms of publicity.


INDEMNIFICATION BY ENTRANT: The Grand Prize winner must provide written confirmation of the foregoing by signing the Sponsor’s standard Declaration of Compliance with the Rules, Release and Consent to Publicity Form (the “Release”), which shall also serve as the Grand Prize winner’s agreement to release and indemnify Sponsor and their respective parent(s), subsidiaries, affiliates and/or related companies and each of their officers, directors, shareholders, employees, advisors, assignees, agents, licensees, representatives, advertising, media buying and promotional agencies from any liability in connection with the Contest and/or the Prizes. The Release must be executed by the Grand Prize winner and provided to Sponsor prior to such winner being declared eligible to receive the Grand Prize. If Sponsor does not receive a signed Release back immediately from the delivery of the Release to the entrant, then such entrant shall forego any right or entitlement to the Grand Prize and Sponsor may draw another entrant’s name.


By entering the Contest, entrant releases and holds Releasees harmless from any and all liability for any injuries, loss or damage of any kind to the entrant or any other person, including personal injury, death, or property damage, resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from acceptance, possession, use or misuse of any Prize, participation in the Contest, any breach of the Contest Rules, or in any Prize-related activity. The entrant agrees to fully indemnify Releasees from any and all claims by third parties relating to the Contest, without limitation.


The Sponsor will not be responsible for late, lost, illegible, incomplete, inaccurate or destroyed entries, and all such entries are void. The Sponsor assumes no responsibility for incorrect or inaccurate capture of entry information, technical malfunctions, human or technical error, printing errors, lost, delayed or garbled data or transmissions, omission, interruption, deletion, defect or failures of any telephone or computer lines or networks, computer equipment, software or any combination thereof. Entry material/data not satisfying the entry requirements or that have been tampered with or altered are void. In the event it is determined that an entrant has entered in a fashion not sanctioned by these Contest Rules and/or has submitted more than the number of entries permitted by these Contest Rules, the entrant will be disqualified and all of the entries submitted by the entrant will be disqualified.


The Sponsor reserves the right to terminate or suspend this Contest or to amend the Contest Rules at any time and in any way, without prior notice. Without limiting the foregoing, if, for any reason, the Contest is not capable of running as originally planned, due to any reasons such as tampering or infection by computer virus, the Sponsor reserve the right to terminate the Contest and conduct the selection process from all previously received eligible entries. The Sponsor shall not be held responsible for any problems, errors or negligence that may arise or occur in connection with or resulting from the Contest or the Prizes, including but not limited to any damage to an entrant’s computer equipment, system, software or any combination thereof, as a result of the entrant’s participation in the Contest. Any attempt to deliberately damage any website or to undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and should such an attempt be made, Sponsor reserve the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution.


All entries become the permanent property of the Sponsor and none will be returned. No correspondence will be entered into except with selected entrants. This Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws.


In the event of a dispute as to who submitted an electronic entry, the entry will be deemed to have been submitted by the authorized purehmv account holder of the e-mail address submitted at the time of entry. “Authorized account holder” is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, on-line service provider or other organization (e.g., business, educational institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. Selected entrants may be required to provide Sponsor with proof that he/she is the authorized pure account holder of the e-mail address associated with the selected entry.


The Sponsor respects your right to privacy. By entering the Contest, you consent to the collection and use of your e-mail address, first name, last name, date of birth, mobile phone number, city, province, postal code, and daytime phone number (“Personal Information”) by hmv Canada Inc. to administer the Contest. Purehmv Apple iTunes Giveaway CONTEST RULES


To be eligible, entrants must be a registered purehmv member during the contest period. To be entered automatically, members must have purchased an iTunes Gift Card at an hmv Canada location between November 7 and December 16, 2011.
